Ebola Outbreak In Texas! Keep Calm And Prep On

Ebola Outbreak here in the US? No not yet. Honestly probably never will. Keep calm and continue to prep. Did you come to Survivalpunk today worried about the Ebola outbreak in Texas. By  Ebola outbreak I mean 1 confirmed and 1 suspected case at this time. I have not looked but I’m sure there are people trying to make a buck off this already. I’m here today to calm people down. I’ll share some Ebola facts with you.

I’m not even worried about an Ebola Outbreak. Not in the current state of the virus. If it mutates into a worse strain then maybe. Why am I so calm about Ebola. Why am I not running around buying N95 respirator masks? I went and got the facts about Ebola. I talked with an expert in the field. You can check out that interview with Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy Here. Let’s dig into a few reasons  to be not scared.

Ebola Outbreak

I  do  not  see a major Ebola outbreak in the US. The countries where it has hit the hardest have poor medical facilities. Sanitation at these facilities is terrible. They are lacking in infection precautions. They don’t understand the concept of effective quarantine. They have   limited supplies . In the current Ebola outbreak the medical staff in these facilities become infected themselves. With the medical staff dying facilities  close. This leaves many without access to medical treatment. You can see how this all compounds.

Another key reason in the Ebola outbreak is health. The state of health of many in those countries is poor to begin with. They people there suffer from malnutrition They consume contaminated water daily. They are not healthy in the first place. In this weakened state of health Ebola devastates them. Where the virus infects healthy people survival is more likely.

Treatment

There is no cure yet for Ebola. The method of treatment is supportive care. Treat it like you would a bad case of the flu. It would be a good time for rehydration solutions. If you have access to IV bags use them. Treat the symptoms with otc meds. You need to keep yourself healthy and strong to fight the virus. You will be out so hopefully you have help in this. If there is an Ebola outbreak in the US the hospitals will fill up. Making a quarantine room in your home would be better.

Keep Calm And Prep On

I’m not worried about this at all. My plan is to stay the course. Keep prepping. Keep improving my overall health. Minimize exposure. Stay at home if things That’s all you can do. Running around freaking out will not help you. It will only cause more panic and fear. Be a responsible prepper. Spread knowledge to your neighbors in this scary time. We are all in this together.
